RG Consultancy are working with an excellent company located in Elland who are looking for a Management Accountant to join them on a full time, permanent basis.
The company are well established and a medium sized turnover business, looking for someone who has already been involved in month end to join the finance function.
Duties include
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for projects and business operations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Support external audit requirements and provide information for statutory reporting.
- Produce project cost reports, analyse financial performance, and investigate variances against budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor contract profitability, project costs, and work-in-progress (WIP) balances.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to provide financial insight and commercial support.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, control costs, and enhance financial performance.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in the development and improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting efficiencies.
- Provide ongoing support to the Financial Controller and undertake ad hoc finance projects as required.
About You
- Previous experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Strong understanding of project costing, contract accounting, and profitability analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, or qualified by experience would be advantageous.
