An established and growing mid-sized construction company is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Bristol.
Specialising in fit-out and refurbishment projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, and public sectors, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining long-term client relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working on a varied portfolio of projects in a collaborative environment.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring costs are effectively managed while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs from tender stage through to completion.
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
- Producing cost reports and forecasts.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Negotiating with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining profitability.
About You
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong background in fit-out and refurbishment projects is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
- Full UK driving licence.
