As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a key part in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused catering and hospitality service within our Extra Care schemes. The role supports food preparation, mealtime service and front-of-house delivery, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a warm and welcoming environment. You'll also help maintain safe, hygienic and efficient kitchen operations while contributing to a positive, resident-centred experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assisting with the preparation and plating of meals to support smooth, efficient service.
- Acting as the main front-of-house presence — welcoming residents, helping them to their seats and supporting meal delivery within the scheme and to customers' homes.
- Preparing simple meals independently (such as breakfasts, snacks and evening teas) when the Chef Manager or Supervisor is not on site.
- Ensuring meals meet individual dietary and nutritional needs.
- Responding to customer feedback and escalating issues where needed.
- Maintaining clean, safe and organised kitchen and front-of-house areas.
- Completing food safety documentation accurately, including temperature checks, labelling and cleaning schedules.
- Following food hygiene, health & safety, COSHH and infection control requirements at all times.
