We're looking for two Heating Engineers to join our Property Services Team and help deliver high-quality heating, plumbing, repair and maintenance services across properties owned and managed by Broadacres throughout North Yorkshire. One role will be based around the Selby area and the other around the Northallerton area, providing support across our wider housing portfolio and helping us deliver an excellent repairs and maintenance service to our customers.
This is a varied role where you'll carry out servicing, repairs, installations and maintenance to a range of heating systems including gas, oil, LPG and renewable technologies. You'll also undertake domestic plumbing repairs, complete associated building works, and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working closely with customers and colleagues, you'll play a key role in delivering an excellent repairs service, achieving first-time fixes wherever possible and ensuring our customers receive a professional and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, repairs and installations on domestic heating systems, including gas, oil, LPG and renewable technologies.
- Undertake domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Complete associated minor building works, including making good, brick replacement and minor plastering.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant technical standards, legislation and manufacturer requirements.
- Accurately complete certification, records and job-related documentation.
- Use mobile technology to record work and support service improvements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and meet performance targets.
- Build positive relationships with customers and provide clear advice and support.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety policies, data protection legislation and industry regulations.
- Carry out vehicle checks and ensure company vehicles are maintained appropriately.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience working within housing repairs, maintenance or a similar environment.
- Experience of working directly with customers and members of the public.
- Strong knowledge of domestic heating systems, plumbing systems and relevant safety procedures.
- Knowledge of Gas Industry (Installation and Use) Regulations and Gas Safe Technical Bulletins.
- Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and identify effective solutions.
- Relevant City & Guilds Basic Craft Certificate, recognised apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Current Gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CONGLP1PD and UHW1.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and excellent customer service.
Desirable
- Experience working within a social housing or local authority environment.
- Significant experience as a Heating Engineer.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, including air source heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
- Knowledge of oil and LPG heating systems.
- OFT10-105E, OFT10-600A and OFT10-101 oil qualifications.
- Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems (Non-Refrigerant Circuits).
- Water Regulations (WREG) qualification.
