Broad Street Dental Practice has an exciting opportunity for a Qualified or Trainee Dental Nurse to join our practice in Whittlesey, 15 minutes outside of Peterborough. We are a busy family practice that has been established for over 40 years. Our experienced staff are renowned for their friendly approach to providing a high standard of care. We are a predominantly private practice, with a small commitment to the NHS.
Experience in the dental industry is not essential as we will also be considering applications from school or college leavers (aged 16+) who may be interested in a career in dental nursing. We will also be considering applications from qualified nurses who either recently qualified or have further experience working in general practice or other suitable backgrounds.
Hours: Part-time with the possibility of an extension to full-time
Days: Initially 2-3 days per week
Start Date: ASAP
A very competitive salary will be offered to the right candidate. The salary will depend on age, experience and additional qualifications, where appropriate to the role.
The role of a Dental Nurse will include, but is not limited to:
- Providing clinical chair-side support to dentists and hygienists
- Ensuring CQC requirements are met, especially complying to the current COVID-19 restrictions
- Providing excellent patient care
- Updating patient records, taking clinical notes
- Preparing instruments and materials during treatments
- Setting up decontamination of instruments
- Stocking up and organising surgeries
- Processing digital X-rays
On occasion, your role may involve reception duties that may include:
- Greeting patients in a polite and courteous manner at all times
- Managing the diary by arranging appointments
- Answering the telephone
- General administrative duties
- Reporting and liaising with other staff members
The successful candidate must be reliable, organised, have good communication skills, be computer literate and keen to learn. Private practice experience would be preferred but is not essential.
