We are seeking dedicated, organised and compassionate professionals to join our team as Safeguarding and Attendance Officers. This is a key role within the school, supporting our commitment to ensuring the safety, well-being and engagement of all students. The successful candidates will play a vital role in safeguarding processes, attendance monitoring and administrative support for the SDSL. You will work closely with pastoral teams, external agencies, students and families to promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Safeguarding Support Responsibilities

  • Assist the SDSL in managing and maintaining safeguarding records in line with statutory guidance.
  • Support the coordination of safeguarding referrals and communication with external agencies where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date safeguarding documentation and systems.
  • Support safeguarding meetings and case management processes.

Attendance

  • Monitor and analyse student attendance and punctuality data.
  • Work with pastoral staff to identify and support students with attendance concerns.
  • Communicate with parents/carers regarding attendance issues and support plans.
  • Coordinate interventions and track improvements in attendance.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within a school, safeguarding, pastoral or child welfare setting.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or experience of safeguarding procedures within education (training can be provided).
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working with data systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Employment details

  • Full time – 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.
  • Term Time Only Permanent Grade - E.
  • Salary – £22,032 - £23,483. Actual Salary (£26,403 - £28,142 FTE).
