We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly, self-motivated and conscientious caretaker to join our estates team at North Walsham infant & Junior Schools from September 2026.
Duties include carrying out basic maintenance, building repairs and keeping the school and grounds clean, safe and tidy. We welcome applicants with experience of working within a caretaker or maintenance role ideally within a school environment. It is essential that applicants have good administrative, communication and ICT skills along with a good understanding of legislation and regulatory compliance as it applies to school premises such as Health & Safety, COSHH, asbestos and legionella.
Applicants should possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills along with a flexible approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a busy team. Personal qualities are of paramount importance and the person appointed will be expected to be approachable, professional, flexible and reliable.
This post is 17 hours 30 minutes per week, all year round, Monday to Friday 2.30pm to 6pm. Flexibility is essential to cover absence.
