We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Taproom and Experience Manager to lead our taproom team, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and grow the taproom’s role as a flagship venue for the brand.
Role Overview
The Taproom and Events Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Brixton Brewery Taproom, ensuring high service standards, a warm community atmosphere, and efficient hospitality operations. This role is perfect for someone who loves people, loves beer, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Taproom Operations
- Lead all daily taproom operations, ensuring smooth service and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain taproom cleanliness, organisation, and presentation to brand standards.
- Ensure quality of Brixton beers and perfect execution.
- Oversee keg and stock management, including ordering, rotation, and accurate inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Manage till systems and other taproom equipment.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of bar staff and supervisors.
- Create a positive, supportive work environment grounded in Brixton Brewery values.
- Lead by example during service, coaching staff to deliver excellent hospitality.
- Produce rota planning that balances labour cost efficiency with service quality.
- Customer Experience
- Cultivate a friendly, inclusive, community-focused environment for all guests.
- Act as the taproom’s host – interacting with customers, sharing beer knowledge, and elevating the overall experience.
- Respond professionally to customer feedback and resolve issues swiftly.
- Events & Programming
- Work with the marketing team to plan, promote, and deliver taproom events, brewery tours, launches, collaborations, and community activities.
- Support corporate events, ensuring exceptional hosting and coordination.
- Business Performance
- Monitor taproom KPIs and deliver monthly reports (sales, footfall, margins, waste, staffing).
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through improved service, events, retail offerings, or new taproom experiences.
- Ensure the taproom acts as a key brand-building platform for Brixton Brewery.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a managerial hospitality role (bar, taproom, pub, or similar).
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills.
- Passion for our brand and craft beer and willingness to continually develop product knowledge.
- Understanding of licensing, health & safety, and bar operations.
- Experience working in a brewery taproom or craft-beer environment.
- Event planning or hosting experience.
- Personal Licence Holder (or willingness to obtain).
