One Society is currently recruiting a Senior Policy and Campaigns Officer. We are seeking an individual with the ability to both develop well-evidenced policy proposals and engage persuasively with decision makers about those proposals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable dealing with both policy makers and employers, in addition to other key influencers. The role will contribute to our objective of developing and promoting policies which will reduce the excesses of income inequality in a way that is good for businesses, the economy, taxpayers and society.
Purpose of role: One Society is a small organisation, and therefore all staff can expect to participate in a range of tasks. However, the focus of the role is as follows:
- Maintaining a good working knowledge of policies with the potential to significantly affect levels of UK income inequality (policies of politicians, officials, employers, NGOs, unions and other interest groups).
- Establishing One Society’s policy and practice proposals, and conducting research and analysis in support of these.
- Identifying and working with key policy makers, employers, investors and their representatives and influencers (including relevant media) in order to promote and develop One Society’s policy and practice proposals.
