Index on Censorship is one of the world’s leading advocates for the right to freedom of expression. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our programmes team in London to oversee the daily operational work of our international campaigns and projects.
We’re looking for inspirational individuals who want to grow with Index on Censorship and take on new and exciting challenges. You will project manage a series of programmes that champion free expression rights across the globe and ensure we are delivering on our objectives.
Responsibilities and Requirements
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the following:
- Significant experience in managing small & mid-scale international projects, in particular in setting, meeting and monitoring agreed deliverables for partners and donors;
- Expertise in established project management and reporting systems;
- Experience of working in complex international environments;
- Experience of working across departments and disciplines;
- An understanding of the key themes in the free expression debate.
The following knowledge, skills and experience are desirable:
- Experience of campaigns and advocacy programmes;
- Proven communication and media presentation skills;
- Experience in writing and publishing;
- An enthusiasm for opportunities presented for the web, blogging and social media;
- Knowledge of foreign languages, in particular Russian and Arabic.
