Deen City Farm is looking to recruit a part-time Chef Manager to run its busy and vibrant Café for four days per week.

Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 9.15am to 4.15pm for four days per week (total of 28 hrs) inc. one day per weekend

Salary range: £18-£20k (Pro rata on a 40 hr week) hourly: £8.65-£9.61

Deen City Farm is a successful community resource comprising a city farm, riding school and garden project based in the London Borough of Merton. Our Café is integral to bringing visitors to the Farm and ensuring a quality visitor experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplying a diverse range of Café catering, taking into consideration customer demand, customer satisfaction, a need for healthy eating options, cost of ingredients and efficiency/waste.
  • Sourcing stock from a variety of wholesalers and retailers, including locally-produced food; preparing and cooking dishes so that there can be pre-made and homemade catering options.
  • Recruiting, training and supervising staff in the Café to ensure a high level of customer experience and team working; supervising and supporting volunteers assigned to the Café in conjunction with the volunteer co-ordinator.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and inviting Café environment for all Farm users.

Applicants should have previous catering and supervisory experience. A catering or hospitality qualification is advantageous. A full driving licence is a significant advantage.
