About the role
Following continued investment at our Rugby site, we are looking to expand our Engineering team with an additional Reliability Engineer to support the performance and continuous improvement of our canning lines. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering a world-class engineering environment, driving operational excellence and contributing to the achievement of key site performance measures.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a world-class engineering and reliability strategy in line with the Britvic Work System (BWS).
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability, line performance, and maintenance effectiveness across production lines.
- Lead and support preventative, predictive, and autonomous maintenance activities to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Use root cause analysis and fault-finding techniques to improve MTBF/MTTR performance and minimise equipment failures.
- Work closely with Operations, CI, Asset Care, and Maintenance teams to deliver key site performance targets.
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with Health & Safety and Environmental standards, promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Support the development of SOPs, engineering standards, and technical training across engineering and operations teams.
- Carry out line walks, attend SIC meetings, and provide hands‑on engineering support to optimise production performance.
- Identify continuous improvement and cost‑saving opportunities across maintenance and engineering activities.
- Manage contractors and issue Permit to Work documentation in line with site procedures.
- Take ownership of a designated production area, developing specialist technical expertise through ongoing training and development opportunities in the UK and overseas.
Experience and Key Attributes
- Minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline, or equivalent transferable experience within a similar role supported by a proven track record of success.
- Strong experience within a strategic, KPI-driven manufacturing environment focused on delivering maximum operational effectiveness.
- Proven experience partnering with manufacturing operations teams to maximise site output through effective planning and delivery of maintenance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, strategic projects, and new product development support.
- Knowledge and practical experience of both Mechanical and Electrical systems within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross-functionally and managing relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- Demonstrated engineering experience gained through either a time-served apprenticeship route or equivalent transferable industry experience.
