About us: Overlooking the Alde estuary, Snape Maltings is situated close to the Suffolk coast. It is a popular visitor destination with independent shops, cafes, a restaurant, event venues and art galleries. The site is now largely owned by Britten Pears Arts, a Music & Arts based charity, and all profits contribute towards our charitable work. Our mission is to use Music, Arts & Heritage to transform people’s lives for the better, to bring communities together and effect positive social change. We are currently looking for reliable people to join our friendly Welcome / Car Parking team. Hours are flexible including weekends, school holidays, and our busy concerts, festivals, weddings, and farmers' markets events. This Zero hour contract provides ultimate flexibility to provide additional work around an existing job, or as a part time role. This role supports the Welcome Team Supervisors and would suit someone who likes working outdoors and interacting with people. The Welcome Team are often the first point of contact for visitors arriving at Snape Maltings and so this role is required to be an ambassador for the organisation’s values.
To be considered for this role you must be aged 17+
- Previous experience working with people in a voluntary or paid capacity
- Is friendly and relates well to people from all walks of life
- Calm and friendly under pressure
- Makes a positive contribution to the team
- Is well presented and can act as an ambassador for the organisation
Responsibilities:
- Welcomes visitors to the site at peak times throughout the year
- Directs visitors to the correct areas onsite
- Assists with parking direction to ensure that traffic flows on site
- Assists with setting up parking areas
- Helping visitors with any general questions/queries that they might have
