Britten Pears Arts

Administrator, Music Programme

The Music Programme at Britten Pears Arts delivers all its performance and creative activities – from the Aldeburgh Festival to our Community and Creative Health Programme.

The main purpose of the Administrator’s role is to support the Director, Music Programme, the Deputy Director, Music Programme (O’Hare Music Centre) and the Head of Community. This will include diary management, administration of meetings and other established processes, as well as direct project administration support when needed, especially for the Creative Health team. Given the nature of the Programme’s broad remit, the post-holder will be immersed in all aspects of our music work.

We’re looking for a forward-thinking administrator who thrives in a creative environment. You will need strong admin and IT skills, and whilst you do not need to be a music specialist, it will be helpful if you have a love for music and the arts. This role could also be an interesting sideways step into arts administration.

The role is advertised at 0.6FTE / 3 days week but we are open to flexible arrangements that span the 21 hours of the contract per week. You may need to work around the school run or other work, so please let us know in your application what works best for you.

What helps us get the most from your application:

  • A CV that shares your experience, skills and what you’ve been involved in
  • A cover letter giving us a sense of who you are, what interests you about the role, and what you would bring to it
  • Applying via our website where possible, so your application comes through clearly and can be reviewed in full

We understand there’s no single “right” way to apply, and that people bring different experiences and styles. If there’s anything we can do to support you in the process or make adjustments, please feel free to get in touch at people@brittenpearsarts.org — we’d be very happy to help.

We are an equal opportunities employer and believe that diversity strengthens and enriches us. We positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates of all ages and from all backgrounds, in particular from global majority backgrounds and disabled candidates who are currently under-represented at Britten Pears Arts and Snape Maltings Trading Limited.
