We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to work within the Production Department, which involves providing practical operational support for the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment and wiring harnesses, as well as testing this equipment during the manufacturing process. Additionally, this role supports the installation, testing, and modification of aircraft electrical and avionics systems into new aircraft or major aircraft components in accordance with approved data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out the manufacture of aircraft electrical / electronic components to meet drawing requirements.
  • Carry out manufacture of wiring harnesses to meet drawing requirements using specialist hand tooling.
  • Carry out testing of electrical / electronic components during manufacture using basic test equipment.
  • Crimping and soldering terminations and connectors, wire harness forming and lacing to meet drawing requirements and good aeronautical standards.
  • Complete technical administration and completion of process packs.
  • Adhere to tool control procedures.
  • Adhere to company procedures and health and safety policy.
  • Carry out the installation of wiring harnesses, electrical and avionics components into aircraft or aircraft components.
  • Ensure all tooling and test equipment within the workshop are within calibration date.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5 GCSEs Grade C/4+ incl Maths / English.
  • BTEC ONC or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronics discipline.
  • Served recognised Electrical / electronic or avionics apprenticeship in manufacturing would be desirable.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing electrical / electronic equipment and / or wiring harnesses.
  • Experience in the use of basic electrical / electronic test equipment.
  • Aircraft / aerospace production experience would be desirable.
  • Experience on working on small turboprop or piston fixed wing aircraft would be desirable.
