Britten-Norman is the producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK and is now the UK’s only independent civil aircraft manufacturer. We are also a leading aerospace SME, offering a market leading range of aviation related services internationally.
We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Assembly Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out Production Line fitting to aircraft from detail to final installation stages and release to flight shed and/or maintenance of aircraft as directed and will work to completion deadlines in accordance with specific instructions and to produce the work on time and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Line Fitting, installation to an aircraft
- Identify in conjunction with Assembly Supervisor areas of improvement within build process.
- Follow the schedule to achieve KPI’s.
- Responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained to the highest level in compliance with the Company Quality Assurance Procedures.
- Ensure that aircraft workstation and working areas are clean and safe in accordance with current flight safety, health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Maintain audit requirements by completing relevant documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work and support multi-disciplined teams in the introduction of new products and processes into full manufacture.
- Maintain tool control.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 GCSEs Grade C/4+ incl Maths / English
- Aircraft related engineering apprentice or armed forces equivalent
- Level 3 qualification in related subject would be highly desirable
- Any relevant lean manufacturing qualification i.e. NVQ, BTEC would be highly desirable.
- Experience with aircraft production.
- Experience of working to engineering drawings and specifications
- High level of health and safety awareness
