We are looking for experienced Aircraft Fitters to join our expanding production facility on the Isle of Wight, supporting the manufacture of the Islander aircraft. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical skills, precision, and a commitment to the highest aerospace safety and quality standards.
The successful candidate will carry out production fitting of our new build Islander aircraft, from individual detail parts through to final installation stages.
Key Responsibilities- Perform fitting and assembly tasks on aircraft structures, systems, and flying control assemblies.
- Interpret BN engineering drawings and elevate process improvements or alternative techniques to enhance production capability.
- Apply daily hand skills including pitching, drawing, drilling, countersinking, solid riveting, and installation of other approved fasteners in accordance with approved design data.
- Carry out production line fitting from detail parts to final installation stages in line with production priorities.
- Work accurately from engineering drawings, specifications, and detailed work instructions.
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Complete all work to strict quality standards and within allocated timescales.
- Meet and update local KPIs in line with the production plan.
- Liaise with production engineering and quality teams to resolve build issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work produced, reporting deviations or issues through the correct communication channels.
- Maintain workstations and tooling to the required standards in line with Health & Safety and CAA compliance.
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Fitter or in a similar role within aerospace manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft assembly processes and aerospace quality standards.
- Confident ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
