Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician to join a practice in Worcester, MA as a primary care provider and APP Trainer. The APP Trainer will work in a hybrid role, including training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and providing direct medical services to patients. This full-time role involves 20 hours of patient care and 20 hours of APP training, education, and professional development.
Training Responsibilities:
- Train 1-2 new APPs, such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants hired within the last two years.
- Review all new-hire APP charts during their first month; continue reviewing approximately ten APP charts monthly thereafter.
- APPs will list the APP Trainer physician within their MSCR system.
- Coordinate with MAVEN services.
- Precept and directly observe APPs, including shadowing and evaluating based on competencies such as history taking, physical exam skills, data analysis, management and plan formation, procedures, problem-solving, and medical principles.
Primary Care Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care for acute and chronic conditions, and preventive health services.
- Examine patients, formulate diagnostic and treatment plans, and interpret test results.
- Perform procedures related to reproductive and pregnancy health, including IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, cervical exams, and prenatal care when appropriate.
- Consult with specialists as needed and participate in other care procedures based on training and ability.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately within 48 hours.
- Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend call schedules as assigned by the Medical Director.
