An enthusiastic and committed postdoctoral research associate is required to join the Arthritis UK Centre for Genetics and Genomics at the University of Manchester. You will work closely with a research team on an MRC funded project that aims to characterize non‑coding regions of the genome that confer risk to osteoarthritis (OA) using functional genomics, with the ultimate goal of identifying the genes that cause OA, the mechanisms by which OA‑associated SNPs alter their target genes, and novel therapeutic targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, integrate and interpret genomics and functional genomics datasets, including Hi‑C, CUT&RUN, ATAC‑Seq, RNA‑Seq and others.
- Generate polygenic risk scores and perform functional annotation of genetic risk variants.
- Collaborate with the team to design experiments and interpret data in the context of osteoarthritis genetics.
- Contribute to the development of the project’s scientific outputs, including publications and reports.
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field, with excellent knowledge of the genetics of osteoarthritis.
- Experience with functional genomics techniques and genomic data analysis.
