Based at the Institute of Historical Research, the Jacob Price Fellowship in British Studies offers a postdoctoral British Studies scholar the opportunity to strengthen their experience of research, academic administration, and international networking, in a History-focused environment. The Fellowship is tenable full-time fixed-term for 18 months and is non-renewable.

The Fellow will play a key role within the IHR team responsible for hosting the 2027 North American Conference in British Studies (NACBS). This will be the first time the conference has taken place in London and it will be accompanied by a public-facing History Festival. The Fellow will contribute to events planning, network building, and the generation of conference-related ideas and initiatives. The Fellow will also work independently on their own historical research and will be supported to integrate into the wider community of established scholars within the British history field.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working from remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
