We are seeking either one full‑time or two part‑time (job share) Research Assistant(s) to join our Global Primary and Community Care team in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. The group is a partnership between the University of Cambridge and the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), applying global health thinking to local health inequalities and enabling reciprocal learning between global and local contexts.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with primary and community health services across ELFT to contribute to clinically relevant research projects in women's and children's health.
- Contribute to evidence synthesis on models of care for maternal and child health in low resource settings locally and globally.
- Support qualitative work with healthcare professionals and the public to identify key areas for intervention in current healthcare pathways that would impact greater health equity.
- Apply for ethical approval to conduct studies in the NHS.
- Contribute to grant writing and international collaborations.
- Contribute to global health teaching.
Qualifications
- Applicants should have subject matter knowledge in maternal and child health, and a completed Masters level degree (or equivalent) in an area related to global health research.
- Experience with evidence synthesis, literature searching and academic writing is essential.
- Experience with NHS and global health research, ethical applications, and qualitative methods is desirable.
- Good organisational and project management skills, as well as strong communication skills in academic writing and broader dissemination, are required.
