- Main Objective
Utilise skills and experience with using a forklift truck to maintain the efficient and accurate movement of motor parts and accessories within the warehouse for onward delivery to UK/Overseas customers, in support of the Company’s business plan, quality standards and operational objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
- 1 Forklift Operations & Vehicle Handling
- Skilled operation of a forklift truck (where certified).
- Transporting parts and accessories around the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Operating FLTs within bulk stock racking systems, including cantilever and low/eye/high-level lifting.
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Operating an FLT for the majority of the working shift (80–100%).
- 2 Safety, Checks & Compliance
- Carrying out daily pre-inspection and general maintenance checks on FLTs.
- Reporting defects, damages, and accidents promptly.
- Supporting safe stock placement and contributing to overall warehouse accuracy.
- 3 Teamwork, Support & Best Practice
- Assisting inexperienced colleagues to upskill and reduce errors.
- Highlighting issues and supporting operational error resolution.
- Advocating and suggesting best-practice procedures.
- 4 Skills Development & General Duties
- Maintaining skills and experience across all warehouse processes.
- Keeping required training and certifications up to date.
- Providing assistance to other warehouse departments when required.
- Carrying out any other duties as required and commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
- Pre-existing Skills Required
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Proven accuracy and reliability.
- Mature and responsible demeanour.
- Good communication skills.
- Competent IT skills.
