British Wool represents 30,000 members across the UK, collecting, grading and marketing wool on their behalf. We are committed to supporting farmers and ensuring their wool reaches markets effectively and efficiently.
We are now looking to recruit a Temporary Warehouse Operative with the role potentially becoming a permanent position; the role is to provide assistance to the warehouse processes during our peak season. The successful applicants will be working within a fast-paced warehouse environment therefore the duties of the role can be physically arduous.
Working Hours: Zero Hour Contract – Up to 39 hours per week, working hours are between 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 3.30pm Friday. No weekend working.
What you’ll do:
- Unloading of wool sheets from HGVs
- Weighing of sheets/skeps using hand-held scanner to record data upon receipt into the warehouse
- Prepare wool sheets to be transported to grading depots
- Transferring wool to various processes within the warehouse via skeps
What you'll bring:
- Be self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic team player
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance
- Be able to implement instruction/training provided
- Fluent in both English and Welsh
