Imagine working in a stateâofâtheâart, 24âhour emergency care hospital where you can provide exceptional patient care and follow through on cases, all while enjoying the support of an internal lab with extensive testing capabilities. This role offers the perfect blend of clinical excellence and personal downtime, thanks to a wellâstructured rota of 7 nights on and 14 nights off.
With a competitive salary of up to ÂŁ63,000 per annum (pro rata and dependent on experience), this position ensures you are wellâcompensated for your expertise and dedication. You'll be working alongside an experienced RVN and PCA, managing all inâpatients and handling emergencies exclusively from the connected clinic. This ensures continuity of care and allows you to build strong relationships with both patients and their owners.
The team is renowned for its compassionate care and collaborative spirit. With a robust team of 16 Vets, 30 nursing staff, and 10 administrative associates, you will be supported by a Clinical Director, 2 Head Vets, a Clinical Nursing Manager, and a Practice Manager. The practice encourages further studies, with six of the Vets currently pursuing certificates in areas such as surgery, internal medicine, and exotics.
Responsibilities
As an After Hours Veterinary Surgeon, you will report to the Head Vet and be based at the main 24âhour hospital. You will be responsible for delivering high standards of service through the examination, medical, and surgical treatment of animals. Overnight staff members have access to bedrooms for muchâneeded rest during shifts.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will be confident Veterinary Surgeons with a keen interest in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC). Strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards of care are essential.
