One of the largest specialist commercial poultry and game bird practices in the UK is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team. The Practice
Founded in 2018, the practice has rapidly grown with bases nationwide, two in-house laboratories, and a biosecurity company. The main practice is located in picturesque North Yorkshire.
The Role
This full-time, permanent position is based at the main practice. Working hours are 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, with 1:4 weekends on call after training. The salary is competitive and dependent on your experience and qualifications in other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostics through post-mortems, farm visits, and laboratory work.
- Perform routine visits for veterinary health and welfare plans, including schemes like Lion Code and Red Tractor.
- Undertake surveillance visits for disease outbreaks such as Avian Influenza.
- Occasionally handle export certification.
- Engage in data analysis and epidemiology.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, applying innovative approaches to optimise health and welfare.
Training and Development
The team comprises experienced vets with a range of post-graduate qualifications and expertise. You will be allocated a VetGDP-registered mentor (if required), and CPD is actively encouraged, including at least one international CPD per year. Further qualifications are supported for those who wish to pursue them.

Team and Location
The practice boasts a collaborative team of 9 vets and 3 administrators. The team enjoys monthly clinical clubs and social activities, including an annual 26-mile charitable walk. The practice is located in a beautiful rural area of North Yorkshire, offering a wealth of cultural, dining, and recreational activities. The North York Moors and East Coast are easily accessible, and York is well-connected by road and rail.
