Your Role:

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the health and welfare of our animals. Collaborating closely with farm managers, field staff, and third‑party producers, you will drive the business forward by implementing both short and long‑term veterinary plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure animal welfare is upheld at all times.
  • Advise and support the team on animal welfare laws.
  • Manage health across our farms, including diagnosing health problems, testing for diseases, and conducting post‑mortems on pigs.
  • Provide nutritional and dietary recommendations for animals.
  • Develop and implement health plans across all farms.
  • Analyse production statistics and make informed recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with Red Tractor standards and maintain accurate records.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Expectations:

Essential:

  • Qualified MRCVS, experienced vet or recent graduate, with experience in working with large livestock, conducting post‑mortems, and taking samples.
  • Excellent communication skills, time management, and a positive, can‑do attitude are crucial.
  • Must hold a full clean driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with pigs, understanding of monogastric production systems, familiarity with VMD requirements, and experience in a fast‑paced environment.
