A progressive and supportive small animal practice in Berkshire is seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. This opportunity is ideal for a vet who values both high-quality clinical care and a healthy work-life balance.

The successful candidate will become part of a welcoming team of 5 Vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 PCAs, and a fantastic client care team. The practice is proudly Silver Cat Friendly Accredited, with a separate Cat Clinic dedicated to feline consults and procedures. Colleagues bring a wide variety of interests to the team, including internal medicine, surgery, feline medicine, and fear-free approaches, with an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine and others currently pursuing certificates.

Facilities and caseload

The practice has served its community for more than 50 years, combining experienced staff with excellent facilities. Equipment includes laparoscopy, endoscopy, digital X-rays, a dedicated dental suite with radiography, and even a separate cat-only building. Alongside cats, dogs, and rabbits, the caseload covers a range of small mammals and birds, keeping every day varied and interesting. The practice also prides itself on community outreach – working with local charities and schools to support animal welfare and inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals.

This role suits a confident team player with strong interpersonal skills and excellent clinical standards. The position includes a balance of consults and surgery, with some sole charge on Saturdays and evenings.
