Are you a seasoned Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for small animal care? My client in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced professional to join a dynamic and supportive team. This role offers a competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £65,000, with additional bonuses for certificate holders and Advanced Practitioners.

At this practice, the focus is people, patients, and excellence in veterinary care. The practice is undergoing an exciting expansion, including a new mezzanine extension with a dedicated dental suite, imaging room, and CT facilities. This growth is driven by a commitment to clinical excellence and top‑tier care. The team is led by an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery and Practice Manager. The practice prides itself on a collaborative culture, regular clinical meetings, and a genuine commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
  • Orthopaedics: TPLO, ESF, locking systems, Hall autoclavable drill
  • Monitoring & anaesthesia: multiparameters, portable capnography, syringe drivers, and infusion pumps
  • Imaging & scopes: Logic R8 ultrasound (Doppler), flexible scopes, Karl Storz image capture, and more
  • From December 2025: new mezzanine with dedicated dental suite, imaging room, and GE Revolution ACT (32‑slice) CT

The Role

As an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon, you will manage your own caseload, engage in complex workups, and collaborate with colleagues across various specialties. There is ample scope to develop subspecialty interests, contribute to clinical meetings, and mentor junior vets. A pathway to partnership is also available for the right candidate.

Work‑Life Balance

  • 4‑day work week with a fixed day off
  • 1:4 weekends; no nights or on‑call duties

  • 5+ years of post‑graduate small animal experience
  • Proficiency in routine ST surgery and imaging

  • Ideally working towards or holding a certificate in a relevant discipline
