This full-time role offers a balanced 40-hour work week, with a fixed rota of 35 hours over four days (Monday to Friday) and no out-of-hours shifts. Additionally, you will be required to work one in four weekends, ensuring you have ample time to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance. For those seeking part-time positions, there are opportunities to work two days per week, plus one in four weekends.

This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified RVN looking for their first hospital role. Whether you are a general all-rounder or specialise in surgical/anaesthetic support or inpatient care, your experience is highly valued and there is a structured and supportive environment to help you advance your nursing career.

Working alongside experienced RVNs and certificate holders, you will gain exposure to advanced clinical skills, including the management of feeding tubes, wound and drain care, complex medical cases, anaesthesia monitoring, and schedule 3 surgical skills. You will have the chance to rotate through different areas of the hospital, from wards to theatre, building your confidence across all aspects of nursing.

Mentorship and CPD opportunities are plentiful, with encouragement to pursue further qualifications when you are ready. The team culture is welcoming and supportive, where learning is celebrated, and questions are always encouraged.

This 24-hour RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Centre, established in 2012, provides out-of-hours and referral level support to 19 referring surgeries alongside a thriving first-opinion service. This means you will be exposed to a wide variety of cases, from routine care to complex referral patients.

Join a team of 70 colleagues, including vets and nurses with postgraduate certificates across ECC, Small Animal Surgery, Medicine, Dentistry, and Anaesthesia. This nurse-led hospital places RVNs at the heart of inpatient, anaesthesia, and surgical care, fostering a culture of teamwork, teaching, and continuous improvement.
