An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Vet to lead a thriving and well-loved small animal clinic in the heart of East London. The clinic is part of a close-knit mini hub, working closely with a nearby consult and minor ops clinic to deliver outstanding care across a varied caseload. With recent investment in ultrasound facilities and further upgrades planned, this is an ideal time to step in and shape the clinic’s future.
The Senior Vet will thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing strong leadership while continuing to develop clinical expertise. Responsibilities include managing a mix of consultations and surgeries, mentoring colleagues, supporting the wider team, ensuring smooth daily operations, diary management, clinical governance, and team engagement. The role offers genuine scope for growth and the freedom to shape the clinic’s direction.
The clinic is well-equipped with two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate cat and dog wards, and a well-utilised laboratory. Ongoing investment guarantees modern tools and technology, and ideas for further improvements are welcomed.
The clinic benefits from close links with a 24-hour veterinary hospital, providing convenient referral options and continued patient care when needed. Additional guidance and mentorship are available through a dedicated regional manager and regional head vet, ensuring full professional support.
The role averages 41 hours per week across four days, with a rota that includes 1 in 4 Saturdays, 1 in 8 Sundays, and up to 2 bank holidays per year. A limited on-call rotation and approximately six short twilight shifts annually are also part of the schedule.
Located just a short stroll from London Fields, the practice offers excellent transport links across North and East London, with easy connections further afield.
This senior role offers a competitive salary of £64,000 to £85,000, depending on experience, with ample opportunity for progression. Benefits include:
- 6.6 weeks’ annual leave (including bank holidays, pro rata)
