You will encounter a diverse surgical caseload, from TPLOs and fracture repairs to thoracic surgeries and portosystemic shunts. A solid understanding of these procedures is essential, but rest assured, ample support and learning opportunities will be provided to help you excel.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with specialist surgeons to manage the referral service, ensuring effective pre, intra and post‑operative care.
- Monitor anaesthetics and maintain sterility as a scrub nurse.
- Involved in diagnostic imaging, ordering specialist equipment and liaising with referral clients and practices.
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and excellent communication skills.
- Previous referral surgical experience and certification in Veterinary Surgical Nursing or Anaesthesia preferred but not essential.
