An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join a highly regarded small animal orthopaedic referral practice dedicated exclusively to orthopaedic and spinal surgery. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced surgeon to work within a supportive, expert team, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to clinical excellence.

About the Practice

This independent referral centre operates from a newly refurbished facility set in a peaceful rural location, offering a modern and well-equipped environment designed to support advanced surgical care. The practice houses three operating theatres and on-site CT imaging, with full capability to perform a wide range of complex orthopaedic procedures including total hip replacement (THR), TPLO, CUE and arthroscopy.

The veterinary team includes an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, a residency-trained surgeon, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner, and an Orthopaedic Intern, creating a stimulating, collaborative environment where learning and excellence are encouraged.

The Role

The incoming Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon will play a key role in delivering high-quality surgical care, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice. Applicants must hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS that permits practice in the UK and ideally have RCVS Specialist, ECVS, or ACVS diploma status (or equivalent).

This is a permanent position, available on either a full-time or part-time basis (2–3 days per week). The successful candidate will enjoy a manageable out-of-hours rota, with no routine out-of-hours surgeries.
