Our client is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join this dynamic team, with a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum (30 hours + 1:5 Saturdays).
This role provides a unique blend of leadership and clinical focus, allowing you to guide a talented team while concentrating on delivering exceptional veterinary care. With the support of the Head Vet, practice manager, and owners, you’ll have the resources and backing to excel in your role.
As the Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will be instrumental in maintaining high clinical standards, supporting complex case decision-making, and promoting best practices in anaesthesia, surgery, and patient safety. Your leadership and communication skills will be vital in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Experience in leading or supporting a clinical team is highly desirable, as is a commitment to continuous professional development, which is actively encouraged and supported.
The role offers a balanced work schedule of 30 hours over three days a week, with only one in five Saturdays from 9 am to 12:30 pm, and no Sundays or out-of-hours requirements, ensuring a healthy work‑life balance. You will be joining a wonderful team known for its excellent communication and mutual support, making it a fantastic place to work and grow professionally.
The team is diverse and experienced, comprising 7 vets, 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 3 receptionists, all led by our practice manager. The varied caseload and proactive clients provide an enriching environment for professional growth. The team also enjoys social activities outside of work, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie.
