This role offers you the chance to join a friendly and supportive team dedicated to progressive farm veterinary practice.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will be part of a small, farm‑only team, supported by a group of ATTs and vet techs. The practice services a diverse range of clients and is actively involved in both local and national initiatives, ensuring that your work is both varied and impactful. The role involves all aspects of farm vetting, working with dairy, beef, and sheep farms, allowing you to explore and develop your areas of interest. With the help of our ATTs, TB testing is kept to a minimum, enabling you to focus on your clinical work. The working hours are typically 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a half‑day for a night on call and a full day of TOIL for a weekend. The rota is made more manageable by the dedicated OOH vet, who covers half of the rota, leaving you with approximately 1:10 on‑call duties for 10 months of the year. A generous holiday allowance ensures you have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful local area.
Benefits
Enjoy 6.6 weeks of paid holiday, including bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional holidays. A CPD allowance of £1,750 for vets and £2,500 for advanced qualifications supports your continuous professional development. After completing your probation, you’ll gain free membership at a local country club, access to health and wellbeing support, and discounted shopping and days out. Additional perks include RCVS membership paid, plus two other membership subscriptions, VDS cover, enhanced family leave, discounted veterinary fees, and much more. The salary for this role ranges from £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience.
If you are ready to embrace a fulfilling role that offers both professional growth and a balanced lifestyle, this could be the perfect fit for you.
