About the Practice

Are you a passionate veterinary surgeon seeking a fulfilling role within a supportive and friendly team? Look no further. A well-established independent practice in Essex, just a stone's throw from the beach, is looking for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join their dynamic team of 13 vets (7 FTE). With a small branch surgery nearby, this practice offers a unique blend of professional growth and work-life balance.

Facilities and Equipment

This practice has made significant investments in its people, premises, and equipment. With specialists in dermatology and soft tissue surgery, the team is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a new dental x-ray system, ultrasound machine, video-endoscopy, digital x-ray, and top-notch in-house laboratory equipment. The recent refurbishment and extension of the facilities now include separate cat waiting and consulting rooms, ensuring a stress-free environment for feline patients.

Team and Training

As an RCVS accredited nurse training practice, the team comprises 14 nurses, 10 of whom are registered veterinary nurses. Many of these nurses are 'home-grown,' providing excellent support for inpatients, surgical cases, and nurse clinics. The practice is also ISFM and RWAF accredited, reflecting its commitment to the highest standards of care.

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will be experienced and surgically competent, capable of independently performing routine neutering, dental treatments, lumpectomies, and diagnostic imaging. A keen interest in working up and following through cases to completion, or appropriately handing over to colleagues, is essential. Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and clients are crucial, as client experience and patient care are paramount.
