Position Overview
Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon looking for a fulfilling new role in an independent practice, offering a strong surgical caseload and a supportive environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! This role is full‑time permanent, working four days a week and one in four Saturdays, 8 am to 4 pm. The practice has an out‑of‑hours (OOH) provider on the weekend, but you will cover your own OOHs during the week, including one night shift per week. Your pay will be paid on an hourly and case‑seen basis.
Applicants should have at least one year of experience working in practice and be confident and happy working sole charge. All interests are welcome; the owner is keen to assist anyone with further education in their specialist area. You will be joining a team of three other vets, with over 45 years’ experience between them, a skilled nursing team, and a Head RVN who has just completed their surgical certificate. The practice offers a great culture, with teamwork, personal wellbeing and development at its heart.
The practice consists of three branch surgeries, all located within 30 minutes of each other on the southwest coast of England. You will be based in the main branch, which is purpose built to provide the best possible facilities for staff, patients and clients—spacious waiting area, two large air‑conditioned consult rooms, operating theatres, a specific dental area, radiography suite, intensive care area, isolation area and separate cat and dog wards. You may be requested to cover at one of the other practices on occasion.
