If you are a veterinary surgeon looking for an exciting new role in Essex, close enough to nap into London or quickly drive out to the gorgeous east coast for a walk and have the flexibility in your working pattern to allow this, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Our clients are a friendly practice based in the North East of Essex, near the Essex/Suffolk border and just a short train ride from London city centre. They are currently looking for a small animal vet to join their talented and supportive team.

This role is full‑time, permanent, working 40 hours per week spread over a 4‑day week, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am‑12pm). There are no out‑of‑hours as our clients practice works with and hosts an external OOH provider. In‑patients are taken care of on‑site by the out‑of‑hours team, allowing for continued care of your patients/clients with minimal disruption and full transparency if they do need treatment out of hours.

The practice also has a flexible approach to the rota so can work with you to find the best rota pattern and keep that work‑life balance right.

The role offers a varied small animal caseload and a mixture of consulting and operating, with every vet given a dedicated operating day each week, plus administration time.

In taking on this role you would be joining a clinical team of 7 vets and 12 nurses, with strengths in surgery, cardiology, ultrasonography and exotics. The practice itself is well‑established with excellent facilities including a surgical theatre, prep area, dental suite, x‑ray room, flexible endoscopes, digital tonometer, class 4 laser and echocardiograph on top of the usual essentials.

You will find free parking onsite at the practice and bus stops just a few minutes walk from the front door going in both directions for easy commuting. The nearest train station is just under a 30‑minute drive or bus journey south and provides a direct link into London city centre and London Stansted airport for travel further afield.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £45,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
  • Annual holiday of 25 days plus
