Whether you’re looking to enhance your clinical skills, explore a specialism, or simply thrive in a collaborative and positive environment — this could be your perfect next step.

A Practice That Feels Like Home

You’ll be joining a close-knit and experienced team made up of 4 Vets, 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, and an RVN-led Practice Manager — all supported by a dedicated client care team of 4 Receptionists and 1 Veterinary Care Assistant. One of the Vets holds a certificate in ophthalmology, offering valuable mentorship and case collaboration opportunities. The practice is purpose-built, fully air-conditioned, and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including tonometry, ultrasound, digital x-rays, and a K-laser. A holistic approach to care is encouraged, with alternative therapies such as acupuncture actively supported. Located just off the A1, the practice is well-positioned for travel, offering quick access to the historic city of Cambridge (only 40 minutes away), Luton Airport, and direct train routes into central London — making it an ideal base for both work and lifestyle.

Your Role and How You’ll Make an Impact

This is a part-time position with a balanced rota: Mondays from 8:30am to 8pm and 1 in 3 weekends (Saturdays 8:30am–6pm, Sundays 10am–4pm). For those seeking additional hours, there’s flexibility to increase your working days, which can be discussed at interview. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours commitments. You’ll need solid general practice experience across both medicine and surgery, and feel confident with occasional sole-charge duties. The practice sees a broad and engaging caseload, including some orthopaedic procedures, with the current team evenly split between medical and surgical interests. Continued professional development is actively encouraged, with full funding available for those interested in pursuing certificates or developing clinical specialisms.

What’s in It for You?

  • A competitive salary of up to £70,000 (depending on experience and FTE)
  • A generous CPD allowance with support for certificate study
  • 5.6 weeks holiday, increasing to 6.6 weeks after 2 years of service
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS, VDS)
  • In-house career development opportunities
  • Wellbeing and pastoral care through dedicated colleague support programmes
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • 20% colleague discount
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme
  • Visa Sponsorship Available
