This Small Animal practice boasts a passionate team of vets, nurses, PCAs, and receptionists.

The facilities include ultrasound, radiography, dentistry, endoscopic, surgical (including laparoscopic), and ICU equipment expected in a top-tier 1st opinion Hospital, along with an internal laboratory staffed by dedicated laboratory technicians.

The practice also provides an Ophthalmology referral service and has a weekly visiting Cert AVP (GSAS) for advanced orthopaedics.

The friendly and collaborative environment ensures everyone is supported in providing the best possible care to animals.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work 7 nights on, 14 nights off from 7:00 pm to 8:00 am, with flexibility for the right candidate.
  • Handle sole charge responsibilities with a nurse on-site.
  • Contribute to case discussions, clinical meetings, and the provision of a progressive veterinary service.
  • Provide outstanding care to support patients and their owners.
  • Lead on surgical and medical cases, and carry out diagnostic investigations with precision.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience as a veterinary surgeon, comfortable with sole charge responsibilities.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to lead on various case types.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and gaining further confidence in clinical skills.
  • Natural mentor and team player, supporting and inspiring colleagues.
  • Excellent client care skills, creating positive and reassuring experiences.
  • Ability to handle a varied caseload with clinical autonomy.
