Overview

We have an incredible opportunity for an out of hours Veterinary surgeon to join our clients well-established veterinary hospital based in South West London.

The rota pattern is a rotation of 4 nights on and 17 nights off.

The hospital itself is first opinion and supports the surrounding branch practices with internal referrals, hospitalisation and emergency care.

It is state of the art, fully equipped with all you could expect from a 24/7 hospital and holds hospital level accreditations from the RCVS as well as Silver Awards from ISFM for their cat friendly clinics.

Based just southwest of the city centre this location is ideal for anyone who loves the city life and exploring all it has to offer.

With excellent public transport just minutes from your doorstep and both Heathrow and Gatwick Airport just 45 minute’s drive or train journey away, you will never miss an opportunity to travel around the UK or further afield.

Responsibilities

  • Provide out of hours veterinary care in a fast-paced environment, including sole charge with a dedicated RVN on shift during the night.
  • Discuss treatment plans, finances and cases with clients and colleagues during handovers and case discussions with the whole clinical team.
  • Operate within a 24/7 hospital that supports internal referrals, hospitalisation and emergency care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally friendly, hardworking and confident in abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable discussing treatment plans, finances and cases with clients and colleagues.
  • Some experience in a similar practice is ideal but not essential.
  • Must be a qualified Veterinary Nurse and eligible to register with the RCVS to be considered for this role.
