Role Responsibilities

  • Support nursing and veterinary teams with all aspects of anaesthesia: creating surgical anaesthesia plans, troubleshooting during the anaesthetic where necessary, and assisting during surgery and recovery.
  • Work alongside an anaesthetist and a team of anaesthesia nurses, including a senior anaesthesia nurse, fostering a collaborative environment with nursing teams, patient care assistants, interns, vets, and other colleagues.
  • Deliver exceptional care and hands-on involvement throughout the entire anaesthesia, surgical, and diagnostic process.
  • Play a crucial role in the training and integration of new staff, including regular CPR and crash training sessions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Some experience in referral nursing is required, but it is not necessary for applicants to have started or completed an anaesthesia certificate.
  • This makes it an excellent stepping stone for those keen to specialise further in the field of anaesthesia.
  • There is a CPD allowance and certificates are supported.

Hours & Working Conditions

  • Full and Part Time applicants considered.
  • Full time 40 hours a week across 4 or 5 days and 1:4 weekends.
