Wensum Valley Vets are looking for a motivated Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team. We are a busy equine and farm veterinary practice, situated in a rural setting on the drive to Fakenham Racecourse.
About our Receptionist role
You will be required to book appointments for our clients, mainly over the phone. A high level of customer service skills is expected at all times, along with supporting the team with various day-to-day tasks within the practice. In-house training and support will be provided. Ideally, candidates will have some understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Some equine knowledge and experience are preferred, as there may be a requirement to assist with horse handling.
Working pattern
This position covers 35.5 hours per week over 4.5 days. The shift pattern includes four shifts from 08:15 to 17:00, one shift from 08:15 to 13:00, and one in three Saturday mornings from 08:30 to 11:00.

Currently, we have four Veterinary Surgeons and four Support Staff. One of our Vets holds an equine dental certificate. We supply Vets to Fakenham Racecourse and the Royal Norfolk Show. Several team members have horses and ride, and vets without horses sometimes ride out on ours. We also have a small animal sister practice, Summerhill Vet Centre.
