We are excited to offer a great opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our friendly team as a Veterinary Care Assistant.
The role of a Veterinary Care Assistant is diverse and encompasses a range of responsibilities, including patient care, kennel maintenance, laboratory tasks & infection control. You will be involved in all aspects of animal care, from assisting nurses with hospitalised patients to supporting the surgical team, stock management, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the practice.
About us: Based at the edge of the South Downs National Park on the south coast of England, a short distance from Brighton and yet within easy reach of London, Crossways has an excellent reputation for providing the highest quality personalised care for our clients and their pets. We are well established in the area and very lucky to have many loyal clients. The team comprises 6 Vets, 9 registered veterinary nurses, and 13 support staff. We offer a full range of services, from preventive care and surgical procedures to advanced diagnostics, tailored to meet the unique needs of every pet. We believe in being part of the communities we serve and support many local events.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- An Animal Care qualification is desirable but not essential
- Prior animal-handling experience
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- Able to remain calm and focused under pressure, with a caring and empathetic approach
- A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills
- A good work ethic
Working Hours: This is a permanent role that could be for up to 35 hours per week, split across 5 days, working Monday to Friday (and occasionally some Saturday morning work), but we would equally like to hear from candidates seeking fewer hours/days. For the right candidate, we will try to offer the flexibility you need to fit around your personal circumstances.
