We invite experienced candidates with a PhD in Banking and Finance or a related discipline from an internationally recognised institution to apply for the position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor, who will also serve as Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance (Dual Degree). The candidate should be an experienced academic with a strong track record in teaching and research in finance and/or banking, and the ability to contribute to the development, management, and growth of the programme.

The BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance (Dual Degree) is offered under The Business School at British University Vietnam and delivered in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). The programme provides students with a strong foundation in banking systems, financial markets, investment analysis, and risk management, combining rigorous academic training with practical industry applications. Designed in alignment with UK higher education standards, the programme integrates theoretical knowledge with applied learning through financial analytics tools, case studies, and industry engagement. Students develop analytical and professional skills that prepare them for careers in banking, investment management, financial services, and fintech. Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded dual degrees from British University Vietnam and Manchester Metropolitan University, enhancing their global employability and professional opportunities in the financial sector.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Academic Leadership: Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance programme. Lead curriculum development and periodic programme review in collaboration with partner universities and internal stakeholders, ensuring the programme remains academically rigorous and aligned with developments in banking, financial markets, and financial technology.
- Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching in areas such as Banking and Financial Institutions, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Financial Markets. Employ engaging teaching methods including case studies, financial simulations, and data-driven analysis, and supervise undergraduate dissertations and applied research projects.
- Programme Management: Oversee the effective delivery of the programme, including module coordination, assessment and moderation, academic advising, and timetabling. Monitor key performance indicators such as student satisfaction, progression, retention, and graduate employability, and contribute to continuous programme enhancement.
- Quality Assurance and Partnerships: Ensure compliance with institutional academic regulations and partner university quality standards. Contribute to programme reporting, validation, and accreditation processes, and maintain effective coordination with the partner institution involved in the dual-degree delivery.
- Industry Engagement: Develop and maintain links with banks, financial institutions, fintech firms, and relevant regulatory bodies. Support industry engagement through guest lectures, collaborative projects, internships, and other career development initiatives.
- Research and Scholarly Activity: Maintain an active research profile in banking, finance, financial economics, or related disciplines. Contribute to scholarly publications, conferences, and applied research activities, and support the research culture within The Business School.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- (Essential) PhD or Doctoral qualifications in Finance, Banking or a relevant discipline area from an internationally recognised institution.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in finance-related subjects at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Experience with programme leadership, curriculum design, quality assurance, and module coordination.
- Evidence of research activity and academic publications.
- University or postgraduate teaching experience in the field, having taught programmes where instruction is 100% English.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international academic environment.
- Clean police record.
- (Desirable) Experience working in or collaborating with the financial services industry.
- Experience in transnational education (TNE) or dual-degree programmes.
- Familiarity with financial databases and tools.
- Evidence of a positive impact at a discipline or programme level beyond own teaching.
