We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Basketball Coach to lead the LSE Women’s First Team, competing in the BUCS London Division 2 Conference. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, training, and developing a competitive and cohesive team, supporting players’ growth and performance throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver weekly training sessions at LSE’s on-campus court in Holborn (5 minutes from Holborn Underground Station)
  • Attend and coach at all Wednesday fixtures (home and away), with matches typically held within London and Greater London
  • Oversee team selection, performance monitoring, and development plans
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 2 Basketball Coaching Certificate
  • First Aid Qualification (typically integrated with the coaching certificate)
  • Proven experience in coaching competitive teams, preferably at university or club level

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the BUCS league structure and student sport environment

Time Commitment

  • 1 evening training session per week (term time)
  • All Wednesday fixtures (home and away, during BUCS season)
