The predicted salary is between 28000 - 28000 £ per year.

The role is across three main areas of development, supporting both BPT and Lambeth Council across the following workstreams.

  • Work with Black Prince Trust to develop Lambeth wide partnerships with BPT.
  • Deliver BPT Schools Strategy and relationships with local schools, including work experience, schools' engagement and site use of BPT.
  • Support BPT’s Football, Basketball and Community Officers in the development of their programmes at BPT hub.
  • Onsite support, opening and closing schools and community bookings including holiday programmes.
  • Work with BPT in building training and development opportunities for young people.
  • Support BPT Leadership in Fundraising bids and events.
  • Develop social media and Comms assets when required.
  • Work with BPT, Lambeth Council and London Sport on Lambeth Place-Based approach.
  • Act as a Community Connector to nontraditional Sports and Physical Activity Providers and advocate for Sports and Physical Activity in these spaces as a vehicle to meet their organisational outcomes; lead on and report findings from North Lambeth Local Forum.
  • Consult with local organisations, communities and individuals through forums, surveys, interviews and focus groups to identify local needs.
  • Apply a flexible approach to working in different environments including from community venues and offices.
  • Lead on facilitating relationships between third-party providers and schools.
  • Lead on gathering and reporting agreed KPI’s.
  • Deliver all of the above within agreed budgets.
  • Consider strategic ways to market and promote North Lambeth opportunities to Lambeth residents and propose cost-based campaigns.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that contribute to the overall function of the North Lambeth Forum.

Work with Lambeth Council to:

  • Support Council with Lambeth wide partnerships.
  • Support and co-ordinate Borough trials and training.
  • Co-ordinate teams, coaches and venues.
  • Support with entry process.
  • Attend London Youth Games events.
  • Create and distribute promotional material.
  • Team Lambeth’s entry and participation to the annual Mini Marathon; alongside attending the competition and managing a team.
  • Coordinate local events and Festivals such as the Active Lambeth Awards.
  • Implement Sports Development plans, working with SDO and NGB’s.
  • Support the Councils Sports & Physical Service data collection and implementation.
  • Attend borough wide meetings.
  • Travel inside or outside the borough when required.
  • Develop social media and Comms assets when required.
  • Comply with all Codes of practice and conduct and adhere to the highest safeguarding practices, in line with BPT Values.

Person Specification

Key Knowledge:

  • Understanding of sports development, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Strong organisational skills and working knowledge in the use of basic IT packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience of using Upshot M&E Platform or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Sport-for-Development Landscape in London and experience of working with significant organisations such as GLA and London Sport.
  • An understanding of communications and social media.

Key Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Community driven and can demonstrate a partnership mindset.
  • Very personable, enjoys working with different personalities, approachable with a professional manner.
  • Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task and set priorities, analyse and resolve problems, and take initiative.

Relevant Experience:

  • Experience or knowledge of working in sports development and community sports initiatives.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating performance data; reviewing and reporting on the progress of programmes.
  • Experience of promoting health or physical activity programmes.
  • Experience of working with and managing casual staff or volunteers.
  • Experience of project/event management and report writing.
  • Working with schools and or young people in the community.
  • Working in a community sports setting.
  • NGB Coaching Qualification.
  • A proven track record of achievement in a relevant field.
  • Professional understanding and/or experience in project delivery.
  • An understanding of National Physical Activity Strategy and/or Place Based Approaches to Physical Activity.
