Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified coach to lead and develop a passionate student club, helping players of all abilities build confidence, improve performance and enjoy a positive university sporting experience.
Working closely with club captains, committee members and the Sport Development Team, you will play a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of Women's Rugby Union at Chester.
As Women's Rugby Union Club Coach, you will
- Lead and deliver structured, engaging coaching sessions for players of all abilities.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participation and development.
- Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members to achieve club objectives.
- Act as a positive role model and ambassador for sport CHESTER.
- Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
- Follow the sport CHESTER Coaches' Code of Conduct and University safeguarding requirements.
- Complete a DBS check and University safeguarding training prior to commencing the role.
- What We’re Looking For
Essential
- An England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA) or Level 2 equivalent coaching qualification.
- A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
- A Headcase Concussion Awareness Certificate.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Rugby Union coaching and player development.
- Experience of working with young adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver effective coaching sessions tailored to participant needs.
- The ability to work independently and use initiative.
Desirable
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience of playing or competing in Rugby Union at club level or above.
