Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified hockey coach who is passionate about developing players, creating inclusive sporting environments, and contributing to a positive student experience.

You will work closely with club captains, committee members, and the Sport Development Team to deliver engaging coaching sessions and support the continued success of the University's men's hockey club.

About the Role

  • Plan and deliver structured, inclusive coaching sessions for players of all abilities.
  • Support the development and performance of the University men's hockey club.
  • Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members.
  • Act as a positive role model and ambassador for sport CHESTER.
  • Follow the sport CHESTER Coaches' Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
  • Complete safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check before commencing employment.

About You

  • A minimum Foundation/Level 1 Coaching Qualification in Hockey.
  • A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hockey coaching and development.
  • Experience of working with young adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills.
  • The ability to plan, develop and deliver effective coaching sessions.
  • The ability to work independently when required.

Desirable Requirements

  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience of competing or playing hockey at club level or above.
