This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified football coach to play a key role in delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality coaching sessions, helping student athletes develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game. Working closely with club captains, committee members and the Sport Development Team, you will help create a positive and supportive environment that encourages participation, performance and personal growth.
About the Role
- Lead and deliver structured football coaching sessions for club members of varying abilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive training programmes
- Work collaboratively with student club captains and committee members
- Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team
- Act as a positive role model and represent the University professionally at all times
- Follow the sportCHESTER Coaches' Code of Conduct
- Support a culture of inclusivity, wellbeing and sporting excellence
- Complete safeguarding training and relevant pre-employment checks, including a DBS check
About You
- Essential: Introduction to Football / FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent minimum qualification)
- Essential: Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport Certificate
- Essential: Knowledge and understanding of football coaching and player development
- Essential: Experience working with young adults
- Essential: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Essential: Strong motivational and leadership abilities
- Essential: The ability to plan and deliver effective coaching sessions
- Essential: The ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Desirable: First Aid qualification
- Desirable: Experience playing or competing in football at club level or above
