We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lacrosse coach to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality coaching sessions, building strong relationships with athletes, and contributing to the overall success of our program. Both Cambridge teams compete in the BUCS Premier league, the highest level of student competition. Another highlight is the annual Varsity match. Coaches will work with a wide range of athletes, but it will include athletes in or pushing for national team selection.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective training plans and coaching strategies for 1 or 2, 2-hour training sessions a week.
  • Provide individual and group coaching, ensuring players reach their full potential.
  • Analyse game/performance data and adjust coaching strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes.
  • Work closely with the captains to determine team selection.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally at least level 1 coaching qualification.
  • Significant coaching/playing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lacrosse and coaching techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Our training sessions are on a Monday / Friday evening so we would require availability for at least one of these. Matches happen on a Wednesday afternoon, and we would expect a coach to attend these where possible. Our Women’s 1s (Blues) are in South Prem 1 and our 2s (Kingies) are in South Prem 2.
